Hi! I’m Meghan. I’ve gone through some pretty major life changes over the course of the last year and a half. In September of 2014 I was in the best shape of my life and completed an Ironman. A few months later, my husband and I got pregnant with our daughter Olivia. There is a stark contrast between Ironman training and racing and pregnancy and motherhood. I’m in the process of figuring out what my new life as a working mom is going to look like and who I will become in the process. It’s an exciting journey, but one that I know will be very different from anything I’ve done before.
As a person, I’ve always enjoyed being social, cooking, learning, running, and working out. I’m a teacher, and I love what I do at work. As a mom, I want to love Olivia and give her as much quality time as possible while also helping her learn, grow, and develop. I’m currently figuring out who I am and what my new role as teacher, mom, and person will look like.
I live in Tampa, Florida with my husband Tim. I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee and went to Emory University for my undergraduate degree in History. I moved to Tampa in 2008 to teach at the school where I work, and when I came here knowing no one, I joined match.com as a way to get out and socialize and met Tim on my third date. We got married in July of 2012, and our marriage has grown and changed over time, especially with the introduction of Olivia in December of 2015.
I wish I could tell you exactly what my blog focuses on. I’ve been writing it since 2010, and it has grown and changed with me. I know I’ll be writing a lot about motherhood reflections, Olivia, and getting back to running and working out (which is absolutely one of the things that makes me happiest). I can’t say I won’t throw in an occasional life lately post or recipe; I love cooking when I have time and sharing memories so that I won’t forget.
