After getting back into blogging, I realized that I wanted a fresh start. I bought my previous design on Etsy and never spent enough time figuring out how it worked to make it work for me. I’d also been debating moving to WordPress for a long time, and I finally bit the bullet and made the switch. I asked for advice on twitter, and after meeting up with Katy Widrick at Panera with Olivia in tow while she brought her 4 month old Remy along, I decided she was the perfect person to help me make the move. I’m glad to support another mom in her business, and I’ve made a friend along the way.
I’m excited for my redesign and reentry into blogging. Now I just have to figure out how to work WordPress! Katy and I are getting together to go over it, but in the mean time if you have links or tips to share I’d love to see them.
I’m still making changes and updates and adding widgets and plugins as I go, so just bare with me if you’re a frequent visitor as I’ll be making changes. If you’re a WordPress user, what widgets and plugins do you use that I should learn and add?
Yay! It’s been so fun working with you so far.
I got a programmer who has installed all the widgets for me. I still think that I am a WP beginner, I would never be able to figure out myself

Yeah, luckily Katy is going to help me with it all along the way. I’m happy that I hired someone who can help me when I have questions instead of endlessly googling.
Stopping by from the Show Your Blog Love group. I just made the switch to WordPress as well! I definitely recommend using the Google Analytics plug-in. And I was really happy when I found the plugin that pulled my featured image into places like Bloglovin.
I’ve been loving wordpress! I just started blogging in January, so I’m still learning things, but I haven’t had any problems so far! 🙂
I totally fell off of the blogging bandwagon, though sort of intentionally. Long story. Anyway, my site is on Word Press and these are a few of the plugins I used/loved:
Akismet – keeps the spammy comments away
CommentReplyNotification – sends the user an email when you reply to their comment
Easy Custom Auto Excerpt – puts auto excerpts on my home screen instead of the entire post
UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore – Automatically backs up my blog to my google drive
W3 Total Cache – speeds up the user experience
