On Sunday, Tim and I will officially have been married for one year. I can’t believe that’s even possible. It seems like our wedding day happened only a month ago. Even when I look at pictures I don’t feel like it was that long ago. Because we enjoyed a very nice honeymoon in Kauai, we’re making our first anniversary a little more low key. We’ve headed up to Atlanta to spend Friday night with his mom, and on Saturday afternoon we’ll head over to a nice hotel in Atlanta for our official anniversary celebration. We’ll be going out to dinner at Aria, which looks delicious. I’m also excited because I found out the hotel has a 25 meter pool that I can squeeze in a workout in along with a treadmill run before we head out to dinner and a nice night out. Then, Sunday we’re headed up to Chattanooga to spend the rest of the week with my family. Being as close as I am with my family and living so far away from them is tough, so I’m looking forward to that.
With all the traveling from spot to spot this weekend, I won’t be getting in the long ride I normally do, but I’m going to cut myself some slack and get done what I can considering we’re on a vacation of sorts.
For today’s Friday post, I wanted to share 5 fun things from the week!
Thursday morning I met Jesica and Beth to go for a 90 minutes bike ride. We had decided to go on the Pinellas Trail. I had heard there were a lot of stops along the way, but no one could have prepared us for what we experienced. There were stops every 100-200 yards a lot of the time. There as so much clipping in and out and we got so frustrated. We had only ridden 3 miles in a little over 15 minutes when we threw in the towel. Beth had to get to work so turned around to the cars, and Jesica and I abandoned the plan to stay on the trail. We veered off and rode the bridges in Clearwater then down the beaches and back to our cars. It ended up being a fantastic ride in the end. I think Gulf Blvd might be one of my favorite place to ride in the Tampa Bay area.
For you Tampa Bay people, use the Pinellas Trail sparingly in the southern Pinellas County area. Other parts might be better, but from W Bay Avenue to Court Street it’s ridiculous.
I’ve found a new favorite top. I had a lululemon gift card and headed in the other day after lunch with Genna to try to pick something out. I ended up buying the cool racerback top on the left as well as another top. When I got home and found out how much I loved the cool racerback, I immediately decided to go back and switch the other top for another CRB. I got the light violet/blue one on the right. These tops are the best. I’ve already run in the striped one and liked that it’s long and doesn’t ride up. I’ve also paired the solid one with a scarf and black yoga pants for the perfect travel outfit. I’ll share it with you next week.
LOFT finally had a 50% off sale! I loaded up on clothes (above are three of the items I got) that will be work appropriate depending on how they’re paired together or with a cardigan. I got 11 items between tops, sweaters, skirts, and dresses for around $250. I was super pleased and am planning to do more outfit posts again now that I’m revamping my wardrobe. I’m still waiting on JCrew Factory to have a major blowout of the same size as LOFT.
I received an email from Kona Kase inquiring whether I’d like to try their box. Um, yes please! It came in the mail yesterday and was a fun surprise. Though it didn’t have as much running and riding fuel as I had seen in the past, there wasn’t a single item that I wasn’t excited to try. I’ve already had the cookies and perky jerky and liked them a lot. I’m actually planning to write a longer review on the products once I’ve tried them all, but good mail days can’t be ignored.
Lastly, I wanted to share two new (to me) drinks. I’ve started buying sparkling water to mix with my nuun lemonade so that I have a sparkling lemonade. It’s making my attempt to stay hydrated constantly more easy. And it’s delicious to boot, though I’ve decided I like San Pellegrino better than the Perrier. And then I saw yellow tail had a red blend on sale at Publix when I was there on Monday. It was pretty inexpensive and I was just buying to enjoy a glass or two while watching Bachelorette, so I didn’t need anything fancy. And it was pretty good! It wasn’t my favorite of the less expensive variety, but I would definitely buy it again if it was on sale and I just wanted to enjoy it myself.
I’m off to enjoy family time and our anniversary weekend! I won’t publish my workouts this week, but if you have any interest in seeing what I’ve done, you can check my DailyMile.
Have a wonderful weekend!
