I am so excited to share with you today about the Under Armour “What’s Beautiful” campaign and contest. I’ve been selected through FitFluential to share with you about it, and I’m being sent gear from Under Armour to sport while participating, but it is something that I would truly be interested in without any incentive.
The competition is to “redefine the female athlete” as Under Armour puts it. When you sign up you put in a goal that YOU WILL complete by working towards it for the duration of the competition. Along the way, you pin, tweet, vlog, and photograph your journey to your goal. Everything is uploaded to a Pinterest style board so you can see how others are progressing along the way. It looks like this:
The photos and videos are in response to challenges that Under Armour posts along the way. Right now, the challenges include uploading a video stating a goal, keeping track of mileage and sharing it, making a list of smaller goals you’ll need to reach to meet your bigger declared goal, and others.
I chose my BIG GOAL to be to complete a triathlon, and right now, though injured, I’m working towards it in other ways. Among those, as I mentioned before, is biking and swimming.
And another purpose of the campaign is to help us, as female athletes, remember what it means to be beautiful. Sometimes people think of themselves as being beautiful only when dressed up with hair done and a full face of makeup on, but that isn’t what beauty is really about. Being beautiful entails so much more, and so much of what we participate in on a regular basis meets those definitions.
Lifting more weight and establishing new personal bests is beautiful.
Finding new ways we can move our bodies is beautiful.
Running or riding or swimming further or faster than we have before is beautiful.
I’ll be sharing my “What’s beautiful” pictures and vlogs along the course of the journey here on occasion and more frequently on Instagram tagged as #IWILL and #whatsbeautiful. Join me!
You can sign up individually to earn prizes along the way, and you can join teams!
I created a team and would love to have you join so we can track each other and keep up with our goals and steps along the way. You can join here. I know that having a group and motivators will continue pushing me to reach my goal of completing a triathlon.
What’s your goal right now? It can by physical or emotional or anything else relating to yourself.
Are you going to join the competition?
How do you define beauty?
