This was a good week of workouts that didn’t originally seem like it was going to be. Without a training plan it’s basically coming to be what I want to do for the day. It’s a nice feeling, but I’m getting stir crazy to get running back in the mix.
Monday I’m ashamed to say I rode the stationary bike in the house for 30 minutes. I’m mostly ashamed because it’s like picking the treadmill on a nice day when I’ve got perfectly good legs. I wanted to watch tv while I was riding, though, so this is what worked.
Tuesday I wanted to get a workout in but wasn’t feeling a long swim workout. Instead I decided to break up the swim with some aquajogging in between. Here’s that workout:
Wednesday I did a 55 minutes weights workout that included some walking, core work, balance work, free weights, and weight machines. After having done the same workout last weekend I was incredibly sore and needed until Wednesday to be able to do the moves again.
Thursday I went to Jillian Michaels and didn’t make time to workout, and Friday I just didn’t feel like it. I guess we all have those days.
Saturday morning I slept in, and it felt weird since it’s normally my run day. After a lazy morning I headed to the pool and did 2200 yards of swimming and 26:30 of aquajogging. Here’s the swim workout that I did. It wasn’t easy. Between it and the aquajogging I had my heartrate up and running the whole time.
Sunday I met up with Tori and Meghan and we rode a little over 32 miles on the Suncoast Parkway. It’s an amazing trail that has no traffic crossings. We even saw two deer out in the backwoods part! It was very pretty, but I was tired after it to say the least. It’s my new personal distance record!
As it turns out, this was a pretty solid week of workouts for me. I’m really starting to find a lot more enjoyment in swimming, and I’ve known since I bought it that I’d love riding my bike (I still can’t commit to a name!). I do miss running a lot, and my ankle is no longer hurting. I’m hoping when I head back to the doctor on Thursday to find out my MRI results that he’ll give me the clear on running if I start Physical Therapy. But, I have to say that I won’t be putting my bike, cap, or goggles very far away. I’m going to be definitely including more of these in my regular training schedule.
