Happy Monday! My spring break ended officially at 8:00 this morning when the bell rang and the kids were back in their seats. I needed the extra time last night to enjoy quiet time so didn’t get a blog post written. I had such a great Easter weekend that I did want to share with you some highlights.
Saturday morning I already shared that I went on my first bike ride and loved every second of it. Though it’s not running, it kept me physical and it was so enjoyable. Afterwards, I quickly showered and headed an hour and a half south to Sarasota to meet up a girlfriend from college, Wendy. She had texted me a few weeks ago and said she was going to be in town from New York for a wedding and wondered how close it would be to meetup. Knowing that I’d be on spring break and would have the time, I of course wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to hang out! It had been over five years since we’d last seen each other!
We met in St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota, which was such a perfect area. There are zillions of shops and restaurants, and we had our pick of the liter. Wendy was excited to shop at Lily Pulitzer, and I have to admit that though I’ve never been a Lilly fan judging them online only, the store had a lot more that I liked than I thought they would.
It was wonderful to catch up with an old friend. She was my twin in our sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, at Emory. We had the same big sister. And though we don’t keep up as well as we should, it’s nice to know that we could pick up where we last left off. There was talk of wedding planning (for her), running, and how life has changed and will continue to do so. I’m lucky that I keep in touch with quite a few girlfriends around the country that I went to college with.
Do you still keep up with college friends?
Sunday for Easter we went to Tim’s parents’ house, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and walked across the street to look at a house for sale in their neighborhood. I didn’t think we were in the market for a house, and I’m still not convinced that we’re at that point to really start looking; it was fun, though, to just take a peek and get a sense of what house shopping will be like.
And this morning, it was back to work! Spring break is officially over. But, summer is coming soon!
What’d you do this weekend?
