I finished grading all my exams and am very happy with the outcomes. I now have two days free, a meeting on Thursday morning, and then absolutely nothing again until January 3rd. I really can’t complain about being a teacher. While people often times don’t give us enough credit or think that our day really does end at 3:30 (Hello teachers out there, do you ever hear this?), it is hard to argue that a three month summer break, 2-3ish week Christmas break, and two week spring break (I know…I know…my school gets two…) are pretty stinkin’ awesome.
So for now, I’m putting finishing touches on my Christmas shopping and my boyfriend’s birthday shopping (December 17th), and I can’t wait for them to open everything. I’ll update on what I got for everyone once the holidays are over, but I’ll give a hint on one I’m really excited about for dad.
I’m also catching up on massive baskets and piles of laundry. I would show you, but it’s seriously embarrassing. I even started shopping for underwear because I convinced myself the problem wasn’t the backup in laundry but the limited number that I own…?
And I’m packing up boxes to ship all my gifts and goodies home. I’m leaving Friday from Tampa (where it is currently 30 degrees…brr…) to go to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I’m originally from and where my parents live. My boyfriend is coming with me and is hoping there will be snow on the ground, as he hasn’t ever seen it before.
I’m a tried and true southern girl.
I’ll post more on some of our family traditions later in the week!
What are your plans for the holidays? Staying home? Traveling to family? Family coming to you?
